This was or is still going around and it is NOT FUN. I think strep can affect everyone differently, but several weeks ago I woke up and had just a little pain in my throat. It was a stressful time and my immune system went down. I did my normal thing to get rid of a sore throat, and you can check out that post here: Sore Throat. Not taking it too serious, because if you catch it early and do something right away, instead of ignoring it, then it goes away and turns into nothing. Which is usually what happens for me. BUT this time it was different.
Best to learn by experience
I did what I usually do but the next morning I could NOT swallow. It was SO painful, it felt like someone was stabbing me in the back of the throat over and over, and then trying to swallow it would hurt even more. Do you know how many times we have to swallow everyday?! I am not talking about eating- forget eating, that would have been too painful. I did not even want to drink anything. Just swallowing saliva each time was so painful, and we do that all day! Wow. I will never be ungrateful to be able to swallow. ever. again.
What did I do? I upped my game. I took more stuff, more often, and bared through the pain each time I had to swallow. The next morning I was worse! Which means, I was not taking enough. Whatever this was it was strong and fast, I should have taken more stuff more often the first day. This one had the up on me. My uvula was so swollen I was swallowing it. The pain was still there and now I could not even take anything because my uvula was so big! I was desperate and did not want it to get worse.
I tried to make an appointment with an ear, throat and nose specialist. For me to go in means I am really out of ideas and desperate. We called everything in the area and….. what? NO OPENINGS for 2 weeks. Uh, ok, I might be dead, thats fine. This is one of the main reasons I like to be able to treat myself and my family- No lines, appointments, waiting and still no help. So we left to go to an InstaCare, I still REALLY did not want to go. I knew they would give me a strong antibiotic and send me on my way. Then I would have to deal with the repercussions of that. Great.
My mom was driving me when she got a call from a friend. She told him what was happening and that she was driving me to take me in. He told us what we already knew and then gave his suggestion- honey, crushed fresh garlic, cayenne and turmeric. I had already tried the garlic and honey the last couple of days but I had not added the turmeric. The InstaCare did not work out and we decided to go home and try it.
Recipe to kill Strep:
At 2pm in the afternoon (this is important), we made this lovely paste out of 2 Tablespoons of raw honey- (melted slightly in a container so you can stir it), 8 cloves of fresh crushed organic garlic, 1 Tablespoon of turmeric, and 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne. I took half a spoonful every HOUR and let it sit in my mouth till runny and then gargled it and swallowed.
I am not kidding, within less than 12 hours my throat was normal. The next morning it was gone, and I did not take it through the night. No pain, and I could swallow. My uvula was back to normal and I did not have to do the antibiotic. This paste is much stronger than an antibiotic, and what I was missing was the amount I took it (every hour) and the turmeric. The turmeric helps with inflammation, garlic kills anything, and honey soothes and kills as well. I wish I did that right when I woke up that morning with a tiny pain. The next day I continued every hour to take it and I could feel a difference with in an hour, it would get better and better.
WARNING and Tips
You will smell amazing. You and everyone around you and your home will just have to deal with it. Take Vitamin C, elderberry syrup, super garlic immune and this infection formula, for at least 4 days after you feel better to completely kill the bacteria from your system so it does not come back. If you have to choose: then do the infection formula and the super garlic immune. Serious the turmeric garlic paste will change everything. We just left it out all day and put it in the fridge at night.
The quicker you do something the better it will be! I hope this helps and you can learn from my experience so you do not have to go through it.
