Every mom wants to be ready when her little ones get sick. My Mommy Hero tutorial is all about natural remedies for kids, what to keep on hand, and how to use it, so you are never stuck.

This is a video/class I put together to go over things like:
- Explaining how the immune system works
- Fevers
- Basic First Aid
- Infections
- Supplements and things I have on hand for babies and children so I am never stuck. And how to USE them.
- Tips I have learned from my mother and being the oldest of 8 and 3 kids of my own.
Philosophy:
Thank goodness I have never had to take my kids to the hospital and I have been able to handle things here with what I have. Modern medicine is a blessing and a gift that has saved the lives of over half of my family.
But when we rely on that system for everything then you are shooting yourself in the foot. There are easy things you can take care of at home, things like ear aches and rashes.
This way our children are not given drugs/antibiotics unnecessarily that will hinder their immune system and cause serious health problems later in their life. It will save you money with not having to take those trips to the ER and paying for those prescriptions. Teach yourself how to recognize the signs and what something serious looks like, change their diet (Check out the Make a Switch page) and work with their immune system and your household will be healthier.
Here is a free download/printable PDF for you to use along with the video
- This protocol has a whole list of common ailments that you can refer back to over and over. The ailments that babies and children most commonly come down with, and what to have on hand and how to use them- so that you are prepared.
Mommy Hero Protocol
When to Call the Doctor or Go to the ER
Natural remedies for kids are wonderful for everyday bumps and bugs, but part of being a mommy hero is knowing when to get help. Please call your doctor or go to the ER right away if your child:
- Is under 3 months old with a fever of 100.4°F or higher
- Has trouble breathing, is breathing very fast, or their lips look blue
- Shows signs of dehydration, like no wet diaper in 8 hours, no tears, or a dry mouth
- Is very sleepy, hard to wake, limp, or confused
- Has a seizure, a stiff neck, or a severe headache
- Has a rash that does not fade when you press a glass against it
- Has a fever over 104°F, or a fever lasting more than 3 days
Trust your mama instincts. If something feels wrong, get help. For more on fevers, see my natural fever protocol.
Safety Tips for Natural Remedies for Kids
- Always dilute essential oils for children, and skip strong oils like eucalyptus and peppermint on babies and toddlers.
- OnGuard beadlets and other oil capsules are only for kids who can safely swallow them. Never give them to babies.
- No honey for babies under one year old, including in elderberry syrup.
- Store oils and supplements up high, away from little hands.
- Talk to your pediatrician before starting new supplements, especially for babies.
