I find myself coming back to these seven vices a lot. As I recognize them in myself and in those around me I am coming to an understanding that they are actual spirit beings. These are also known as the Seven Deadly Sins. They are emotional states that run a persons life. A person can have any of these spirits with them through out their life and not recognize it. There are also very real spirits that counter act the seven deadly spirits in your life.
These are known as the Seven Virtues
Which spirits are running your life? It always comes down to a choice. If the seven spirits that surround the throne of God are actual spirit beings, then why would it not also be that the seven deadly sins are also spirits? There is the same patterns on both sides of light and dark.
Isaiah 11:2-3 (NASB). Including the Spirit of the Lord, and the Spirits of wisdom, of understanding, of counsel, of might, of knowledge and of fear of the LORD, here are represented the seven Spirits, which are before the throne of God.
In order to be able to choose which ones we want functioning in our life, we need to know and understand what they are. If you want the Seven Virtues in your life, a person would first have to recognize that a certain deadly spirit is functioning in their life, and cast it from them on a consistent basis till it did not return. Then work on attracting the opposite virtue into their life to fill that space instead.
Here is a list of the Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Virtues that counter the sins.
1.Spirit of Pride CURE is: Spirit of Humility
An excessive love of the self. Holding the self outside of its proper position regarding God or other people. Love of self-turns into hatred and contempt for one’s neighbor. This is also known as vanity. There is a competitive and comparing nature with one that has this spirit. Pride annoys pride, meaning: if someones else’s pride bothers you, then you also have a lot of pride.
Humility and meekness are the cure for pride. Realizing your own weaknesses and not seeing yourself above another. Meekness in that you have the power but you do not use it for your own selfish purposes.
2. Spirit of greed CURE is: Spirit of Charity
A desire to possess more than one has need or use for. An excessive love of money and power. Covetousness and taking or wanting things out of the divine timing and order for your life. This has a selfish nature behind it as well.
Charity is the cure for greed. Think of others and what you can give and what you can do for another each day. Service and giving of anything you have, even of your time.
3. Spirit of Lust CURE is: Spirit of Chastity
Excessive sexual desire. Lust detracts from true love and what matters in a relationship. Do you know the difference between lust and love? Lust is not just for sexual pleasure, but the spirit of lust is anything that gratifies the flesh. This spirit can make one lust after: Power, authority, respect, food, money, attention etc. The spirit of lusts causes one to see everything as objects, even people, for the pleasure of themselves. Again, this has a selfish nature behind it.
Chastity and overcoming the desires of the flesh will purify the heart and the desires there in. Integrating fasting into your life will subdue the flesh. There are many ways to fast and many things you can fast from. Choose what you lust after and take a break from that. What do you crave or think you need?
4. Spirit of Anger CURE is: Spirit of Patience
Feelings of hatred, revenge or denial, as well as punitive desires outside of justice. Love of justice can be perverted to revenge and spite. Wrath and bitterness run your life, or you have an easy trigger towards them.
Patience and love for those around you, forgiveness only cures you, not the other person. Do not let justice run your life, step into trust in the law of attraction. Do not take things into your own hands, but know what a person puts out will come back to them.
5. Spirit of Gluttony CURE is: Spirit of Temperance
Overindulgence in food, drink or intoxicants, or misplaced desire of food as a pleasure for its sensuality. An excessive love of pleasure. Trying to fill the voids in life and find peace with temporal things that will eventually fade. Anything in excessive is not of light and feeds the flesh. Addictions that run your life and take away your agency and right to choose. These things end up becoming idols between you and the spirit.
Self control and finding a state within yourself of NON REACTION. Finding peace within yourself and not finding things outside of you to satisfy but having the spirit of contentment. Nothing controls you and you run your life. Freedom from addictions and reactions.
6. Spirit of Envy CURE is: Spirit of Kindness
Resentment of others for their possessions. Love of one’s own good perverted to a desire to deprive other men of theirs. This might include the mind-set “it happened to me, so it can happen to them”. Has a mindset of “fairness” but this is because you are always looking outside yourself and comparing to others.
Kindness can be as simple and sending good thoughts towards people. Praying for them, being happy for their accomplishments and celebrating their life. Start praying for those you envy, pray for their lives, their desires, their happiness.
7. Spirit of Slothfulness CURE is: Spirit of Diligence
Laziness and Idleness, wastefulness of time and/or other allotted resources. Procrastination and putting off what can be done. The way you choose to spend your time. Laziness is condemned because it results in others having to work harder. You do not do your part and let other fill in for you. This energy is like a vampire, sucking the life and time of others around you. You do not contribute anything yourself and let others stand up before you.
Diligence in what you need to do, motivation and accomplishing the things you have committed to do. This is a responsible and reliable person. Keep your word, and do not take on more than you can handle. This goes both ways in that you commit to too many thing and then end up letting people down. Balance your life and your commitments. Choose to do one thing everyday and be diligent in it.
Each day we all have a choice between positive or negative, light or dark. Our emotions, and the spirits that run our life are our choice. It is simply which one we choose everyday and the destination we want to end up at.
