There is no judgment here no matter how you are feeding your babies. I am simply here to provide information.
Infants and Children
If you are nursing and want to wean your baby, PLEASE do not do the cows milk for any bottles. You will hinder your babies health right from the beginning of their life, especially if lactose intolerant runs int he family or the parents have issues with this, your children will develop it even earlier than you did, and their children even earlier. If you want more information on this see the cows milk post.
Best start them off with what is good for them and not get them used to cows milk. Even better is the almond milk and coconut milks have just as much calcium and cows milk but as a bonus babies get the “good fats” from both of these milks. Just give them the unsweetened coconut milk and you will set them up for a healthier life. This is not formula, this is an option after they are a year old and you are done nursing.
Breast milk is obviously the best, being the most alkaline and containing everything baby needs for their developing bodies. This is a picture of breast milk from under a microscope. This image shows the breast milk cells and for comparison infant formula, on a cellular level. The breast milk has none of the “grey” filler matter. You can see how the formula has some nutrients, but the breast milk is totally made up of the Rainbow bubbles. Formula is made up of a base form cows milk or soy milk usually. So if you want another option here is an infant formula you can make.
DIY Baby Formula
For babies, if you are not nursing here is a DIY baby formula that a lot of mothers have used and it chunks those babes right up! Goats milk is the closest they have found to mothers milk, because the goats digestive systems are very different from cows (which have seven stomachs). The added sugar and oils in the recipe along with the celery juice and the good fats are good for babies developing brain. The raw goats milk provides the needed enzymes to leave babies pancreas intact so they don’t develop a lactose intolerant system.
- 1 quart fresh organic raw goats milk
- 1/4 cup fresh juiced celery
- 1 1/2 T organic olive oil
- 1 1/2 T unrefined coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp molasses
- 2 T turbinado sugar
- 1/2 tsp ionic silver
Just warm the coconut oil and molasses with the sugar till it dissolves and then mix everything together and keep in glass jar in the fridge
