There are so many different natural remedies for sleep. How much sleep we get and how good we sleep deeply affects our metal health. I have tried a lot of different natural options, and have found what works for me. What works for me and what works for someone else, might not work for you. You are going to have to just give into patience and be willing to try some different things and see if it works for your system. This is one of those ideas you can try and its honey and salt to help you sleep!

Honey is very good for you and has a lot of different properties, like wound cleaning, and it is one of the best ways to feed your brain and a natural source of glucose. One thing you need to read up on first is the type of honey you are eating. I have a post on honey and how to tell if you have a good raw honey. I would check out THIS POST-Raw Unfiltered Honey first, so that you know you are making this recipe for sleep with a GOOD raw honey. (No one wants to to wasting their time and money right?…ya.)

Ok so start with a good honey and here is how you make the recipe and use it:

What You Will Need

  • 5 teaspoons of organic raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon of Himalayan sea salt

Mix the two ingredients together until the salt crystals are completely dissolved, and store it in an airtight jar. Take about a teaspoon of this mixture and place it under your tongue every night before going to sleep. Allow it to mix with your saliva and dissolve naturally.

Why Is It Effective

The mixture of honey and salt allows the body and mind to de-stress naturally, putting you in the peaceful, harmonious and restful state needed to fall asleep. The mixture also ensures you do not wake up hungry during the night.

Himalayan Salt contains over 84 different minerals (as opposed to refined salt) including magnesium that aids relaxation and sodium that regulates blood flow and adrenalin. It controls sympathetic nervous system responses that keep you awake and alert even while sleeping. The right salt and a healthy balance of it stabilizes the metabolism.

Raw honey provides a healthy dose of glycogen, which supports the body in detoxification, hormone regulation and other restorative functions. It also controls the release of adrenalin and cortisol, both of which are stress hormones. This enables the body to slip into a restorative stage rather than a stressful state during sleep.

I got this idea and recipe from jiyo.com here.

Try it and see if it works for you!
