These are so fun to have and make. The formula is a little picky to get the right consistency. If you get them too wet they “grow” they will still work so do not throw them away but they just do not look as pretty.

So it might a take a couple of times to get it right. But after you do they will last a long time and you can scent them in so many ways!

I make mine pretty small and leave them unscented when I make them so I can add what oils and scents I am feeling at the time. I do not add herbs because we have a jetted tub and you do not want those herbs going though there. But add what works best for you and make them your own!

I would suggest staring with half a batch and play with the consistency till you get the hang of it. Half a batch will make you 6-8 smaller balls.

Bath Bombs
  • 2 Cups Baking Soda
  • 1 Cup Citric Acid
  • 3/4 Cup Corn Starch
  • 3/4 Cup Unscented Epsom Salts
  • 3 Tablespoons Bentonite Clay
Add Ins:
  • Any dried herbs
  • Essential Oils for scent

Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly. Get a spray bottle and fill with witch hazel, spray a layer on top and then toss. Repeat this until its like sandcastle wetness- or till you can grab it and it clumps together. Remember! Not too wet or after you shape them they will grow. So the dryer they are the better, you just want them to barely stick together.

To form them you can use a small muffin tin or if you want them to be round see below
