OMNI Defense Nano Silver
I use nano silver for SO MANY things. It shows up in a lot of my protocols, especially in my first aid kit, and I also use it as an ingredient in DIY projects to help keep bacteria out and extend shelf life. Silver has been used for centuries for its natural antimicrobial properties, and it is one of the things I always keep on hand.

What Does PPM Mean on a Nano Silver Label?
Silver products come in different strengths, and you will see this listed as ppm (parts per million) on the label. OMNI Defense is 200 ppm. A lot of nano or colloidal silvers you find are much less than 200 ppm, which means you are getting less silver in each dose. I once saw a silver in an herb shop that was $30 for 8 fl oz and only 50 ppm! So always check your labels and compare the strength.
Colloidal vs Ionic vs Nano Silver
- Colloidal silver is tiny particles of silver suspended in liquid. Particle size can vary a lot from brand to brand.
- Ionic silver refers to silver that carries an electric charge, which helps keep it dissolved in the solution.
- Nano silver means the particles are very small, under 100 nanometers in this formula.
Use It Wisely: A Word on Safety
Like everything, balance matters. More is not better with silver. Taking too much silver over a long period of time can cause argyria, a permanent blue-gray discoloration of the skin. Stick to the directions on the label, do not use it in your eyes, and take breaks rather than using it nonstop. Check with your healthcare provider before using it, especially for children, if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you take medications, since silver can interact with some antibiotics and thyroid medicine.
What Is in OMNI Defense Nano Silver?
Mineral base: An ionic mineral supplement with 78 naturally occurring minerals, plus plant-based amino acids and enzymes. The raw materials come from an ancient lake bed where fulvic acid is still present. Fulvic acid forms naturally in healthy soil as microbes break down plant matter, and it helps carry minerals in a form the body can use.
Silver and other ionic elements: Silver is added to make it 200 ppm in strength, along with small amounts of gold, copper, iridium and rhodium.
Essential oils: A blend of five oils chosen for their cleansing properties: oregano, rose, clove, cinnamon bark and orange.

How I Use Nano Silver
Internal use: Follow the directions on the label. Start with a small amount, like 5 to 10 drops or 3 sprays a day, and do not go over the label’s suggested amount.
External use:
- Hand and surface spray: Spray on hands as a natural cleanser when you are out and about.
- Skin: Spray on minor scrapes and blemishes as part of your natural first aid kit.
- Mouth rinse: Swish 1 teaspoon around your mouth and teeth.
- DIY projects: Add a little to homemade sprays and lotions to help them last longer.
For anything serious, like an infection that is not getting better, a high fever, or something in your eyes or ears, please see your doctor. Nano silver is a great tool to have on hand, but it is not a replacement for medical care.
