Before you start a gallbladder cleanse, it helps to know what this little organ does. Despite what you may have heard, your gallbladder has a very important job. It stores and releases bile, which helps your body break down and absorb fats, and we really do need healthy fats. Gallstones form when bile hardens, and most are made mainly of cholesterol, along with bile pigments and other substances. The gallbladder helps you digest anything with fat in it, good or bad.
The gallbladder is a little organ that sits right by your liver and works very closely with it as part of your digestive system. Your liver makes the bile, and your gallbladder stores it until you eat. When the gallbladder is not working well, it may not release enough bile to help you absorb fats, or bile can back up and leave you feeling nauseous. I like to help prevent stones by eating fewer heavy, dense foods and more fresh plant foods.
What should I eat?

What you do want to eat is more of sodium-rich vegetables and fruits. Things like celery, spinach, kale, mustard greens, and citrus fruit like oranges, grapefruit and lemons. Actually the easiest thing to do is drink a glass of fresh lemon water in the morning and at night. This way it will start dissolving the stones. You can also help your liver (gallbladder best friend) and dissolve stones by adding in asparagus into your juicing. Mix it with the above listed greens and citrus.
Geranium essential oil will also give aid to your gallbladder. Simply rub 1 or 2 drops, diluted in a carrier oil, a day on your right side. I suggest doing these tips listed above for a few weeks and see how you feel. If you are having any strange and sudden pains on the right upper side of your body, and want to do the cleanse then add these things in:
There are several people I know that have avoided gallbladder surgery by doing this cleanse
You do not want to have to go down the road of getting it removed since it does have a job to do. If you want to see what you will be getting out in the cleanse, see the picture below the video.
This cleanse is very specific and must be followed to a “T”, it is only 24 hours and is the only cleanse you will need to stay home for. This protocol is a must to print because you will be referring back to it several times throughout the cleanse.
This is what you will be cleansing out of your liver and gallbladder:

Gallbladder Cleanse Safety
A gallbladder cleanse is a big cleanse, so please be careful:
- Talk with your doctor first, especially if you know you have gallstones. Large stones can get stuck in the bile ducts and cause a serious blockage.
- Do not do this cleanse if you are pregnant or nursing, have diabetes, kidney or heart problems, low blood pressure, or have had your gallbladder removed.
- Go to the ER for severe pain in the upper right belly that lasts more than a few hours, pain with fever or chills, vomiting that will not stop, or yellow skin or eyes. These can be signs of a gallbladder attack or blockage.
- Epsom salt taken by mouth is a strong laxative. Follow the amounts in the protocol exactly and drink plenty of water.
It is also good to know that some doctors believe many of the green “stones” passed during a flush are actually soft clumps formed from the oil and juice, not true gallstones. Either way, I believe in supporting the gallbladder with good food and gentle care. Learn more about gallstones on MedlinePlus.
For the best results, pair this with my liver cleanse, since the liver and gallbladder work together.
