This has an SPF 30, unlike what you are used to, you might need to apply this one more often depending on how wet you are getting. This is so easy to make! Are are a lot of versions and options of sunscreen as well. This first one is the easiest to make. Here is a Natural Sunscreen Label already made for you!

OPTION 1: Shea Butter Sunscreen

  • ¼ cup Shea butter
  • 2 Tbsp Jojoba oil
  • 2 tsp Beeswax
  • 1 tsp Vitamin E oil
  • 10 drops of raspberry seed oil or carrot seed oil
  • 1 Tbsp NON nano and uncoated Zinc oxide powder

Melt the Beeswax, Shea butter, in a double boiler until in liquid form or soft enough to all stir together.

Remove from heat and add 10 drops of carrot or raspberry oil, vitamin e oil, jojoba oil.

Carefully add in Zinc Oxide. Make sure you don’t breath it in. You could use a cloth to cover your mouth while adding and mixing this ingredient ( I don’t usually worry about it.)

Mix slowly and thoroughly until smooth.

Pour into a container of your choice, I like using a mason jar because it’s glass and easily accessible. Or a silicone squeeze bottle from target.

OPTION 2: Aloe Sunscreen

  • 1/2 cup of 100% pure aloe (preferably organic) – it should be globby, like it came fresh out of the plant.
  • 20 drops carrot seed oil OR raspberry seed oil – (raspberry seed oil has a higher SPF if that is what you are looking for)
  • 5 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3 capsules of Vitamin E oil (break open the capsules) or hemp seed oil (2 tbsp)
  • 5 drops of Lavender oil
  • 2 Tablespoons nano Zinc Oxide

Purchase a non-nano version that won’t be absorbed into the skin. Be careful not to inhale the powder and use a mask if you want. This makes a natural SPF of 20+ or more can be added.

NOTE: Please omit zinc oxide from the recipe to make a truly natural and toxic free version of this sunscreen, especially during preparation. Replace the zinc oxide with 1 tablespoon of avocado oil which helps increase the sun protection factor (SPF). Original recipe here

OPTION 3: Coconut Oil Sunscreen

  • 1/2 Cup Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 2 T Non Nano Zinc Oxide
  • 1 T Red Raspberry Seed Oil

Nobody likes getting burned, but keep in mind there are many times that we do not need sunscreen. Most people are deficient in Vitamin D and could use at least 20 minutes outdoors in the sun light each day to give their body the needed Vitamin D for their immune system.
