I love this quote. It puts the responsibility for our actions on us, and takes away the “victim” mentality. It does not matter what another says, does, or believes. It can not affect you unless you let it. We have the power to let it in or keep it out. I am constantly dumbfounded on how stupid and rude the human race can be. We all have differences in beliefs, but why are people so rude about it?

People are constantly being offended and spewing their venom everywhere. I really try and stay off social media because of all the negativity that goes on.  Is it only me that thinks how crazy it is when someone posts something, and if someone does not agree with it, they have to say so?!  Why can’t you just move on with your life? Not only do they decide to disagree and have a public fight, but so many do it in a way that is demeaning, condescending, and negative. Not only putting down the idea, but the person themselves. We DO need a huge eye roll emoji made for social media.

Does anyone know how to separate the actions and beliefs from the person?

We are all individuals seeking our own way, you can have yours, and I can have mine. I do not need to “fix you” about your way. Even if someone believes differently than you do, what is really important is that we have the capacity to be open to others ideas and to listen.  This means that we have the ability to be available, to hear things that we are not used to hearing, and to see things in new ways.  That does not mean we agree or accept them though.  (And we don’t have to make that “abundantly clear”!) . This next quote should shift our thinking and our paradigm of others views.

“A spiritual teaching should actually challenge us, challenge our views, challenge the way we think. If it simply conforms to our views and the way we think, it’s not really any good because it will just reinforce our illusions of separation and superiority.” – Adyashanti

There are so many things that divide us as humans:

Politics, religion, race, culture, family, healthcare, wars, vaccinations, the list goes on and on. We do not need more things to divide us. Stop looking at what is dividing you from someone, and shift your perspective on what unifies you.  If we are always living in a mindset of separation we will live angry lives, always looking around at others and mad at they way they see things. Having the perception of separation is a low frequency and what brings this world into darkness. How are you contributing to the world? You do not need to prove anyone wrong, if you need to disagree, do it in LOVE. If light is going to win in this world we must come together on what unites us.

“Humanity is a manifestation of light, that is the true creation. As long as you divide them on political parties, skin color, you name it, then you suppress the full capacities of your enemy, their full power. They can’t stand up for themselves because if they did the dark side would loose.”

The other quote about “divide and conquer” comes to mind… when you divide you make the other side vulnerable. This is how the darkness thinks and is able to win.

The simple solution is unity.

There are still so many things that we all have in common, even though we all have different views. For example:  We are all just humans with beating hearts who all just want love and understanding.  We all have people we care about, we are all trying to find peace, and all trying to find our place in the world.  Each of us need to realize, we each have a purpose, we all have light inside of us, and we are all connected. What you choose to focus on and put out in the world will come back to you.

Spewing venom and hate all over social media will eventually in one way or another, show back up in your life one day. Comment in love, disagree in peace, give another idea with persuasion and kindness. We need to fight the darkness and not create it or be a part of it.

Remember what our mommies and grandmothers used to always say?

“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”
